CHECK THE MATERIALS USED IN OUR FOOTWEAR PRODUCTION

DO YOU KNOW WHAT GROUPON IS AND WHAT IS VACHETTA?

The two materials are produced from bovine leather. The difference between them is that Groupon is the inner part of the skin and Vachetta, also known as flower, is the outside part. They are separated by chemical/industrial treatment.

The inner part of the skin splits into two, Groupon and Scrap, what determines them both is the region and the thickness of the skin. The Groupon is the thickest and hardest material providing greater durability, since the Scrap is thinner, it has a much shorter durability besides inferior appearance.

Because Vachetta is the flower of the skin, it has greater elasticity, for this reason it has the characteristic of being more resistant than the Scrap, being also more comfortable and presenting greater aesthetic durability than Groupon.

BI-DENSITY PU (POLYURETHANE) OUTSOLE

The Bi-density Outsole is produced with two injections of polyurethane. The first injection is the traditional one, which is in the outsole, the part in contact with the ground. The second injection of polyurethane, the differential in this Safety Footwear, is in the mid-sole, above the outsole.

The Bi-density Outsole offers more comfort and durability for the footwear, since it provides a more resistant material and prepared for the day to day service. Two layers of polyurethane make one to contact the other during the walk, giving more energy return to the professional in contact with soil, facilitating the displacement. In addition to a heel jump system that offers more cushioning and comfort while walking. It has only one negative point, it cannot be stored for long periods because hydrolysis occurs, the process of activation of the polymers, and then it begins to shatter the outsole.

RUBBER OUTSOLE

It is an outsole produced from natural and recyclable compounds, undergoing various heating and mixing processes until they are pressed and shaped according to the desired purpose. Very sturdy and versatile, it fully meets a number of jobs in several branches. Resistance and adherence are its main differentials.

Its advantages:

THERMOPLASTIC TOE CAP

Thermoplastic is a plastic (artificial polymer) that, at a given temperature, presents high viscosity and can be shaped and molded. Used to shape footwear toe caps, according to the temperature and quality of the material it acquires resistance for protection of light impacts, bumpings, stomps, etc...

STEEL TOE CAP

The Steel Toe Cap is the most traditional in the PPE market, after all, it is available long ago to professionals who need protection. For being around in the market for a longer period than the Composite Toe Cap, it can receive the preference of a part of the market, more accustomed to buy what they know better.

Another important point that must be observed in Safety Footwear with Steel Toe Cap is the so-called "guillotine effect". This happens when the weight made over the Steel Toe Cap can cause this material to press the user's toes and finish cutting off this part of the feet. But this is only possible if the PPE is not produced correctly, does not withstand the load it must bear and does not provide the protection it needs.

The main protections offered by the Steel Toe Cap are:

  • Protection against falling of heavy and cutting materials.
  • It avoids burns caused by the contact with chemicals.
  • It prevents perforations by nails, screws and cutting objects.
  • It protects feet against bumps throughout the day.

COMPOSITE TOE CAP

The Composite Toe Cap is made from the combination of carbon fiber, glass and special polyester and offers a less robust look compared to the steel toe cap, however it offers impact protection at the level supported by the concurrent.

Because it has no metallic parts in its composition, the Composite Toe Cap has been more suitable for use in places with chances of electric discharge preventing the professional to be hit by one.

Even with less time in the market, it has been gaining its space in the PPE market and has become a competitor of the already traditional Steel Toe Cap.

The main protections offered by the Composite Toe Cap are:

  • Protection against falling of heavy and cutting materials.
  • It protects against electrical discharges.
  • It avoids burns caused by the contact with chemicals.
  • It prevents perforations by nails, screws and cutting objects.
  • It protects feet against bumps throughout the day.
  • It does not conduct electrical energy.
